Port of Guanta
Estado Anzoategui, VENEZUELA
I lived here for a few weeks a little more than a couple of decades ago.
It was wide open and amazing...

Well within...

...or between the grass and the soil,
the "robin" finds his hearty meal ticket.
Its diet consists of invertebrates,
such as grubs, caterpillars and grasshoppers.
Then fruits and berries during the cold months.

A leap to fly...

...and so I chased after this little robin all over the front yard.
Then over to the neighbors yard...
...saw a dog! swiftly back to my place,
up the steps,
over to the ledge... and then it took a leap to fly!

Outofthenest

Today this little robin flies around and will hop right on up to me...

Peek a beak...

Here is the nest under the eves of my front porch.
Upon peering over the baby robins to take a peek at them,
one of the chicks peeping out...

...jumped out of the nest when I took it's picture!
Oh dear!!! More tomorrow...

Mother,

There is only one pretty child in the world, and every "mother" has it.

IF • Electricity

I am a being of Heaven and Earth, of thunder and lightning, of rain.

What is a soul?
It's like "electricity" we don't really know what it is,
but it's a force that can light a room. Ray Charles

IF • Seed

I am using my weekly post of a "BOTANICA"
for this weeks topic of Illustration Friday which is "SEED"

I had been working on a new image "for seed",
but it got so complex and convoluted that it started to choke!
Creativity can not be rushed nor forced, it needs to evolve...
and...
I need a breath of fresh air...

Jotting dots,

In the creative process the jot of a dot is usually the first and primal action.
Bubbles, pollen, seeds, are variations on the jotting of dots compulsion...
And the sun is one JOT of a DOT.

Supple boughs...

Upon pausing and observing the resilience and beauty
of a simple branch or of a delicate flower
nature shows us how compliant, obsequious and lithe it is.

Most branches bend readily without breaking,
nor do they become deformed or ugly.

Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend a little than to break. Jane Wells

Nature has a funny way of breaking what does not bend.

Calls with words...

The appearance of a robin is considered a harbinger of spring.
It is among the first birds to sing at dawn, and its song consists of several discrete units that sound like "Cheerily, cheer up, cheer up, cheerily, cheer up"!

Another wonderful song bird is the Yellow Warbler and it's song is a rapid musical
"Sweet-sweet-sweet-I'm-so-sweet."

The common alarm call for song birds is a musical "chip."
