She is a tree
of life to them
that lay
hold upon her:
and happy
is every one
that retaineth
her.
Bible quote
20" x 20" • papel picado - papercut • Tyvek®, mixed media, custom frame • Lisa Rivas © 2004 • "Mom"
I designed and created this piece to honor and remember my mother, she is just in a different dimensional plane.
Our death is not an end if we can live on in our children and the younger generation.
For they are us, our bodies are only wilted leaves on the tree of life. Albert Einstein

Papel picado ("perforated paper") is the Mexican art of papercutting into elaborate designs.

Such beautiful and delicate work.

Hi, Lisa,
I have finally gotten a little time to look at all of your blog entries that I've missed and....WOW! I am so impressed with all the wonderful work you do! It was just great to see some pieces I knew from the Gallery, to see some others that are completely new to me, and brand new ones hot off the "press"... like the little glass bugs.
Of course I love them all! and continue to be amazed by your infinite creativity. Muy Bueño!
Hugs and best,
Carol
